Halloween ended early?
About 50min ago Bobby disappeared, and ToTs no longer seem to be dropping. The official website slates the festivities as continuing through 11:59pm on Sunday, November 2.
Just a lil frustrated. I'd been planning on working on my gamer title today. : /
I'm not posting this to open the gates of Hell and unleash the "ZOMGWTFANETSUX" QQ-fest that I know will ensue regardless, but more or less to see if there'll be some action to fix it in a timely manner.....or at all.
I realize they have limited staff working on GW1 these days and all, but mishaps like this really hurt their reputation as a business over time. Yes, I know they're not obligated to do anything special. Although I would argue it's somewhat necessary to keep your player-base satisfied, since a solid amount of profit stems from repeat customers and all, as well as word-of-mouth. I think they're on the right track with some of the more recent updates that have been implemented, as well as those planned in the near future, since they seem to be seriously considering player feedback regarding some features (hurray for grind reduction), but disappointments like this leave a sour taste in everyone's mouth.
Please get the remainder of Halloween back on track, Anet.

Mostly yeah, I don't even really care about the bags....I mean...there'll probably be more sweets and alcohol dropping over Thanksgiving weekend too. Just not another chance to work on gamer until Wintersday, as far as I know, and with the revamped rewards for costume brawl this year...it was better than the 10pts/win you get in Snowball Arena....especially if you can get a good streak going.

That stinks. I was looking forward to some more costume brawls today. Needed 53 gamer points for the next level, but more importantly, I really enjoyed the games. I posted this topic on another forum as well, and hopefully, they can get Bobby and the ToT drops back in the game before too long.

It's not necessarily curtains for the event. When Gaile's fairwell ended prematurely, they managed to get crap back on schedule. It just meant a few missed Frog visits. I know it's also happened in the past where they've extended the drops too, if significant time was lost. Just want my darling Bobby back, yo. Need to get back to my Overload+Wastrel's spam before the withdrawal symptoms get so bad I can't carry on with my meager existence anymore. >_^

Halloween ended for me after the 4th mad king appearance I attended. No more farming, no more event participation...I just got myself into RA and lost a lot because I was bored of other things.
Oh and i was getting bags after midnight pst..I think.

I don't know how the rest of you feel but its sometimes a pain working out the time translation.
Mostly the times of events are stated in pacific time, and this festival came at a time when many where altering clocks back Much of Europe did this on the last Saturday of October
USA didn't till change till Dec 2nd, and sometimes I believe individual states change on different days, changes also take place at 12 1 or 2 pm adding to my confusion.
Its possibly because I'm an old guy with a lower level of mental agility than I used to have.
Maybe Global games need global time info.

After I got kicked back to GToB from Costume Brawl, I switched to my Ele and did several raptor runs.....no bags. This was around 3am for me, since I'm officially in EST. If your clock said it was 1:30am, don't forget....Daylight Savings (Spring ahead, Fall behind). ^ ^;
Wonder if the clock change was what threw things off. I'm not really pissed about the mistake, I'd just like to see if get fixed as soon as possible today. ><

I haven't checked in-game this morning, but are the decorations still up in LA, Droks etc? If they are then the disappearance of Bobby could be as planned...the halloween npc's (Bobby, horsemen collectors etc) appear at staggered intervals over the first couple of days of the festival, so why can't they disappear at staggered intervals over the last day of the festival?

The NPCs, specificially the collectors, tend to stagger in over time, yes, but in my experience they don't pull the NPCs out before the scheduled end. At least, not intentionally. Decorations almost always linger until the next scheduled update, anyway. Costume Brawl specifically opened at noon on Friday and was expected by many, including me, to be available until 11:59pm on Sunday evening.
I suppose it's their prerogative put them in or take them out, but to randomly do so unannounced and without precedent is a little....well, it just sucks. I find it difficult to believe that it was their intention to shaft people out of some good fun, and am much more inclined to believe that someone miscalculated something or entered the wrong data. Crap happens, and I understand that. Fixing it would be nice though, and I'm hoping that happens soon.

Not at all surprising, they always end events too soon, heh.
